All division winners, finalists, semi-finalists, and consolation winners will be invited.

2012 marks our 5th year Anniversary and we are looking forward to some great competition again and a lot of fun. The 5th Annual Hillsborough County Tennis Association/Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered (Force) Ladies Tennis Tournament is set for Friday through Sunday, Oct. 19-21, 2012. This year we’ve added the Single Division
Tournament matches will start Friday evening continuing on Saturday morning through Sunday. Proceeds from the women’s multi-level single & doubles tennis tournament will go to Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered (FORCE), supporting breast and ovarian cancer research and treatment. A portion of the proceeds will go to HCTA Scholarship and their Inner City Community Base Tennis Programs.
“In the last four years, with help from area clubs over 150 wonderful women tennis players, and our many sponsors, raised more than $50,000 to fight breast and ovarian cancer,” says tournament director Marisol Casablanca. “Every year we aim to do even better and this year we will be adding Singles to the tournament (limited space).
At 6:00 PM Friday night single tennis matches are slated to start at Arbor Greene and Tampa Tennis at HCC. All Doubles matches will start Saturday morning 8:00 AM and Sunday morning at 9:00 AM at Tampa Tennis HCC (South Tampa) and Hunter’s Green Golf & Country Club (North Tampa) Play will be in 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 + levels. Singles players need to be available Friday night, Saturday and Sunday day. Double Players need to be available Saturday and Sunday. Due to the amount of players in each bracket we will not be able to make any changes once our Site Director posts the schedule at the HCTA Website.
Tampa Tennis HCC (South Tampa) and Hunter’s Green (North Tampa) Golf & Country Club will host a Saturday luncheon. On Sunday the Singles finals Championship will be held in the morning, and doubles in the afternoon at the Hunter’s Green Country Club. Winners from each site at each level will play championship matches starting at 9:00 AM (Singles) and 4:00 PM (Doubles).

The HCTA was founded in 2007 with a mission to promote and develop tennis in Hillsborough County. The primary mission of the Hillsborough County Tennis Association (HCTA) a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is to promote and grow the sport of tennis at all ability levels and for all populations in the greater Tampa area. HCTA supports diversity and participation in local tennis. Each year the HCTA runs fund-raising events benefiting local charities. Thanks to the efforts of the junior development committee the HCTA also sponsors local Sanctioned Rookie tournaments and a Junior Development Scholarship program where scholarships are given to families in need of assistance.
Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered (FORCE) is a national nonprofit organization devoted to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Based in Tampa, FORCE was founded to assure that no one would ever have to face hereditary breast or ovarian cancer alone. Through our programs, events, and website (facingourrisk.org), FORCE promotes research on hereditary cancer and educates people about cancer risk, prevention, detection and treatment. FORCE’s Tampa Bay Outreach Group serves the needs of people facing hereditary cancer in the Tampa Bay area.
